    <description><![CDATA["Meet the Editors - Part 2" is a group publishing to announce the formation of Photojournale's editorial committee and introduce some of their work.<br />
<br />
Drawn from a global community of photographers, in April 2011 David Bathgate, Lisa Hogben, Erica McDonald, Anamitra Chakladar, Michael Fox and Tanya Habjouqa join John Horniblow to form an editorial committee for Photojournale. The committee's role is to give a cross style, cross cultural and varied geographical voice to the selection of submissions and the refinement of the work published on the site.<br />
<br />
In this, Part 2 of a 2 Part series, we take a look a representation of work, from reportage, street photography, and photo documentary of Mike Fox (UK/US), John Horniblow (Australia/Morocco), and Tanya Habjouqa (Jordan/Israel).<br />

Life continues, and so do the traditions and self-respect--a resistance to letting suffering be the standard definition. Women are continuing to care for their families, strive for education, and pursue careers. This is a work in progress, a look at the every day lives of women in Gaza.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[High school students in Gaza receive first aid training from a women's association--who lecture that should another Israeli invasion occur, the girls be in a position to take care of themselves and family. Women's associations with strong religious connections are becoming increasingly predominant across Gaza, with a crippled economy and government under siege--the women's associations are offering relief to the community where others cannot--including daycare, orphan assistance, teaching of crafts, beauty salons, and spaces to exercise.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[The rapid onslaught of war sparked by Hezbollah's capture of two Israeli soldiers in a cross border raid devastated Southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut and a vast amount of civilian infrastructure.<br />
Thousands of Lebanese were displaced having fled under a barrage of pamphlets from Israeli warplanes advising them to leave their homes.<br />
Many Lebanese civilians did not survive the journey.<br />
An estimated 1,300 Lebanese died, while Israel lost 159 people, 118 of them soldiers and the rest killed by Hezbollah's rockets.<br />
This is a record of the immediate impact of the war on Lebanese children and their families, the devastation of homes and entire villages, recovery efforts, and those civilians returning home to absolute carnage.]]></description>
