James Muecke
James Muecke

James Muecke is an eye surgeon, a philanthropist, an adventurer, and a photographer. James founded Sight For All, a not-for-profit organization committed to fighting blindness in the world's poorest communities. During his working trips through the developing countries of Asia, James has had the good fortune to experience the beauty and energy of this colourful and vibrant corner of our planet. Rarely without a camera draped over his shoulder, James captures snapshots of these exotic destinations and hopes to share them with the world. James has already self-published Visions of Myanmar, a book of his images taken during travels through this little known and mysterious country, and is currently working on his second photographic book, Visions of Asia.

James is the chairman and founder of the Australian NGO Sight for All http://sightforall.org/ which works in developing sustainable solutions to both treat and eliminate avoidable blindness in Aboriginal communities, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. The photographs his book, Visions of Myanmar, were taken and compiled during his surgical teaching trips to the country as part of Sight For All’s Vision Myanmar Program.
